Katherine Connell, an active student athlete and global community volunteer, enjoys meeting new people while helping others. In the summer of 2014, she traveled to Costa Rica with the Rustic Pathways organization. During that trip, she built houses and taught children to speak English, while also learning about the local culture. Katherine Connell previously traveled to Fiji and is currently considering China as her next service learning destination.
An avid athlete, as well, Katie Connell plays competitive volleyball and lacrosse. Currently a member of the junior varsity team at the Morristown-Beard School in Morristown, New Jersey, she has played on the varsity team on several occasions by the coach’s invitation. At home, Katie Connell enjoys playing the piano, singing her own original songs, and reading romance and mystery novels. She names The Fault in Our Stars as her favorite book. Also excelling academically, she has demonstrated a particular aptitude for math. With a 3.6 grade point average (GPA), Katherine Connell continually aims for stronger grades as she progresses toward graduation.
